Irobe Yoshiaki(Japan)

Graphic Designer/Art Director. Born in 1974. Completed a master’s course at Tokyo University of the Arts. Director of Nippon Design Center, Inc. and Director of Irobe Design Institute within the same company. He has worked on a wide range of design projects, from public projects such as Osaka Metro's CI, national park's VI and signage supervision, and Ichihara Lakeside Museum's VI and signage planning, to corporate and product branding. Also serves as the Art Director for the Japan Pavilion at the Osaka Kansai Expo 2025. He has won several design awards, including the Yusaku Kamekura Award, ADC Award, SDA Grand Prize, CS Design Award Grand Prix, JAGDA New Designer Award, and One Show Design Gold Pencil. He is a member of AGI, Tokyo ADC, and JAGDA.
Zhao Qing(Mainland China)
Member of the Alliance Graphique Internationale (AGI), Deputy Director of the Book Art Committee of the Publishers Association of China, member of the Shenzhen Graphic Designers Association (SGDA), member of Japan Graphic Designers Association Inc. (JAGDA), Editor and Reviewer of Jiangsu Phoenix Science Press, Supervisor of master students at the Nanjing University of the Art and founder of the Nanjing Graphic Designers Union. In 2000, he founded “Han Qing Tang Design Co.” and served as a Design Director.
Over the years, he has been committed to the practice, research and promotion of graphic design in various fields. His design works have won awards or been selected in various important graphic design competitions and exhibitions worldwide. He has won the D&AD Yellow Pencil Award in the UK, the ADC Gold Cube Award in New York, The One Show Design Silver Pencil Award in New York, New York TDC Award, Red Dot Award in Germany, iF Design Award, Golden Bee Award in Russia, Japan JTA Best Awards, Tokyo TDC Award, GDC Award, Shenzhen Global Design Gold Award, Hong Kong Global Design Gold Award, DFA Most Influential Award and Gold Award, Taiwan Golden Pin Design Annual Best Award and many other international design awards. His book design works have won the title of “The Most Beautiful Book” 37 times.
Liu Keng Ming(Taiwan)
The founder and Chief Creative Officer of Bito, a top motion-design and creative company in Asia. He integrates the full-spectrum of design in every aspect of moving experience through film, animation, design, and technology. His works range from an urban landscape lighting festival, Universiade, Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival to the Taiwan Pavilion of London Design Biennale. Over the past 16 years, Liu has worked with brands big and small from all over the world to make inspiring works in all mediums, such as Disney, Apple, BMW, Facebook, HTC, Freitag and more. Currently, he is focusing on the “Design Feeling” philosophy to explore innovative storytelling, creating uniquely moving experiences in content, environment, and the motion branding system.
Liu Zhao(Mainland China)
Member of the Alliance Graphique Internationale (AGI) and Shenzhen Graphic Designers Association (SGDA). Founder & Creative Director of another design. He was selected as TDC Ascenders by TDC New York in 2018. This award recognises young designers around the age of 35 who have made outstanding achievements in type and design. His works have won many international design awards, such as 2021 Tokyo TDC Prize; D&AD Graphite Pencil Award; The One Show Design Silver Pencil Award; NY ADC Bronze Award; Design for Asia Awards: 1 Silver Award and 1 Bronze Award; GDC Award: 3 Gold Awards, 3 Silver Awards, 4 Bronze Awards, 3 Jury Awards and 21 Merit Awards; HKDA Global Design Awards: 1 Gold Award, 1 Jury's Choice Awards and 3 Bronze Awards; Award 360 2021 Best social design of the year and so on.
He served as the jury member of various design competitions, including the Asia-Pacific Design Yearbook 2021-2022; 2021 China International Poster Biennale; 2022 The One Show Design category international judge; 2022 New York TDC Ascenders judge; 2022 Topawards Asia judge; 2022 One Show Asia international judge; 2022 Award 360 international judge and 2022 Kan Tai-keung Design Award final round judge.
Chí-An Benjamin De Leo(Vietnam)
A true multicultural individual, born in Germany to an Italian father and a French-Vietnamese mother. He speaks four languages, has lived in five countries, including a significant ten-year stint in the UK. He started his career in advertising, working at Lowe Vietnam, where he helped create a branding division. However, he eventually transitioned back into branding and design, co-founding Rice in 2011. With Rice, Chi-An has achieved numerous international accolades, including awards from D&AD, Red Dot, Pentawards, Graphis, and Type Directors Club. He has also been invited to judge several international design awards such as The Dieline and Core 77. One of the most prestigious awards that Chí-An has been invited to judge is the D&AD awards in London, where he sat as part of the Branding Jury.
Kim Dohyung(Korea)
Studied printmaking and visual design. Founded Studio Grayoval in 2002, and have been working with a focus on various social phenomena ever since. He is in constant communication with various sectors of culture, including art and fashion.
Tommy Li(Hong Kong)
Renowned brand designer and consultant famed for his “Black Humor” and “Audacious Visual” designs. Spanning Hong Kong, China, Japan, and Asia, he is one of the few designers to have penetrated the international market.
Graduated from the School of Design in the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, he has received over 600 awards and launched solo exhibitions, including “Project‧Objects‧Play Tommy Li P.O.P. Design Show” invited by Hong Kong Heritage Museum in 2018, and his 20 years solo exhibition series in Hong Kong, Chengdu, Suzhou, Beijing and Shenzhen from 2010 to 2015. He has become a member of Alliance Graphique Internationale (AGI) since 2005. Over the years, he has been the judge of international competitions, such as iF Design, D&AD Award, Global Design Award, Hong Kong International Poster Triennial, Golden Pin Design Award, etc. He has brought remarkable success to his major clients, including Hang Seng Bank, MTR Corporation, Maxim’s Caterers, Chow Sang Sang Holdings International Ltd, Taetea Group, Dairy Farm Group (First Choice), Honeymoon Dessert, Ying Kee Tea House, HKPC, Shanghai Watch and more.
Balmer Hählen(Switzerland)
Founded by Priscilla Balmer (Art director / Project manager) and Yvo Hählen (Art director / Graphic designer), Balmer Hählen is a graphic design studio established in 2013 in the heart of Lausanne. Since 2022, the two co-founders have been members of the Alliance Graphique Internationale (AGI). Composed of a team of four, Balmer Hählen specialises mainly in cultural fields such as art, design, music, and photography, which are at the heart of the team’s professional career.
Through their transdisciplinary approach, the studio integrates digital media and print into their thinking on a daily basis, considering these two mediums as complementary. They have acquired expertise in the field of papers and printing techniques, organizing several events related to these subjects.
Their achievements, both locally and internationally, are regularly exhibited and rewarded. In 2018, the studio received the prestigious Tokyo Type Directors Club Annual Awards. In addition, Priscilla Balmer and Yvo Hählen are often asked to share their approach during conferences, jury and workshops. Their experience has led them to travel to countries such as South Korea (2023), Mexico (2022), Japan (2018) and China (2018).
Janine Rewell(Finland)
As a Finnish designer living and working in Helsinki, who is interested in organic geometry and the unexpected perfection of nature, Rewell blends imagination with reality through illustration and installation. Abstraction of forms and the fantastical animal kingdom inspire her work, which mixes vector based designs and analog materials for displays, textiles and designed environments. She composes geometric forms and fluid patterns using digital tools to fashion fantastical characters and immersive landscapes within her pieces.
Janine has received numerous awards, including Red Dot Award, Cannes Lions and ADC*E Awards. Her clients include Google, H&M, Nike, Samsung, The Times, Toyota, Wired and Calvin Klein.

1. Entry must be original work of Applicant; if plagiarizing, counterfeiting or stealing is found, the Organizer reserve the right to disqualify the Entrant’s entry; if the entry is already awarded, the reward as well as the award will be cancelled and returned.
2. The Organizer reserve the right of exhibits reproduction for promotional and recording purposes, and publishing exhibits in printed materials and collections of works;
All the winners will be notified by the registered email, which should be confirmed accurate; Works should be sent by courier according the instructions, all mailing expenses are responsible by the winners, freight collect is not accepted.

4. When damage due to poor production or transportation that leads to impossible exhibit occurred, Entrant will need to arrange the transportation again and the extra expenses should be responsible solely and fully by the Entrant;
5. The Organizer will provide proper protect of the entry works, however, full risk and costs including but not limited to losses or potential damage due to theft, fire or transportation should be borne solely and fully by the Entrant;
6. The Organizer reserve the right to enter part of or all entries of shortlisted candidates into other regional or international exhibitions;
7. Entries will not be returned to Applicant;
8. The Organizer will not involved in the assignment of authorities for Entrant in group, including but not limited to the receipt of reward or award;
9. In submitting the Entrant’s Registration Application, the Entrant fully and unreservedly agrees to all the terms, clauses and conditions as above;
10. The Organizer reserve right of interpretation and final jurisdiction of rules of this competition.
Macau Designers Association was successfully established “Macau Design Biennale” in 1994, which was renamed to “Macao Design Awards” in 2019. To solicit and select the best works in the field of design from designers from around the world.
Over the past three decades, the Macau Design Awards has worked with designers from around the world to discuss design trends and the value they carry. Through a series of professional exchange activities, such as competitions, exhibitions and lectures, the top design works are brought together. In this process, the Macao Design Awards and designers jointly focus on the role of design in social development, explore the creativity and benefits of design in the commercial market, and explore design trends and promote cooperation and connection.
Macao Design Awards 2023 will focus on the theme of "The Future of Design", discuss the future development trends, challenges and opportunities of design with the participants, and explore the definition and value of design.
